Your account

Manage account is in the menu behind your avatar, top right, and it is the same in all three consoles. Three tabs, and they hold genuinely different kinds of thing, which is worth knowing when you are hunting for a setting.

My profile

Photo. Upload one. It is stored in your organisation's own file storage and shown wherever you appear — the submissions queue, the class roster, the leaderboard. A real photo makes a class roster usable; it is a small thing that saves instructors a lot of squinting.

Name. Changing it here updates it everywhere, including on work you have already submitted.

Bio and links. Optional, and they appear on your public profile. Learners: filling in a bio is also worth 25 XP, once.

Your profile is per-account, not per-organisation. If you belong to two organisations on the platform, they see the same name and photo.

My preferences

Theme. Light, dark, or follow the system. It is remembered per browser.

Language. Applies to the product's own wording. Course content is written by your organisation and is in whatever language they wrote it.

Email notifications. A list of the kinds of message the platform sends, each with a switch. You are shown only the rows that apply to you, so a learner does not see "New submissions" and an instructor does not see "Streaks".

The rows, and where each one starts:

Two things about this list.

Announcements have no switch on purpose. An organisation addressing all of its learners is not something a learner opts out of. It is the one category that is always delivered.

Turning a switch off only stops the email. The notification still appears in your notifications list in the product. Nothing is lost, it just stops arriving in your inbox.

Account settings

This tab talks to the identity system rather than to the learning platform, so what you change here follows your account everywhere on the platform, not just in one organisation.

Password

Change it here. You need your current password, which is the point — an open session should not be enough to lock the real owner out.

Two-factor authentication

Two kinds, and you can hold both:

Authenticator app (TOTP). Scan the QR code with the app you already use, type the six-digit code it shows to confirm, and you are enrolled. Do this on a device you will still have next month.

Emailed code. A code sent to your address at sign-in. It needs a verified email address — the platform will refuse to enrol it otherwise, and that refusal is correct, because a code mailed to an unproven mailbox protects nothing.

You can enrol a second factor before your organisation requires one. Whether you are actually challenged for it at sign-in is a policy your organisation sets.

Connected accounts

Link Google or GitHub to your account so you can use Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub to sign in.

Keep at least one way in that does not depend on a single provider. If Google is your only sign-in method and you lose access to that Google account, an administrator has to re-issue your platform password before you can get back in.

Calendar

If your organisation runs live classes, you can connect Google Calendar so classes appear in it automatically.

One thing surprises people: connecting a calendar does not backfill. The platform writes to your calendar when a class is created, changed or cancelled, and connecting today changes none of those. So every class you were already invited to would stay missing. That is what the Sync my classes button on the classes page is for, and it only appears when there is something to sync. Once you have pressed it, new and changed classes flow through on their own.

What is not here

Your roles and enrolments are set by your organisation's administrators, not by you. If you need a role you do not have, or an enrolment you are missing, that is a conversation with an administrator rather than a setting on this screen.
